The ruins of the church.

The round tower at Kilbenan is a little more than a stump and resembles the one at Drumcliff and the one at Dysert O'Dea.
The first monastery was founded here by St. Benin in the 5th century.
The round tower was built around the year 1000 and the church was built in 1428.
