Very little is known about this unusual tower, apart that it was built in 1298 along with the now ruinous church, and that it was the bell tower of this church. The unusual feature is that it has a square plan at the base and gets octagonal halfway up, and has a crenellated top. The bell-cote still has the bell in its place.
The adjoining little church on the south (180°) side is in ruins but it still has some very interesting things inside, like the large slabs with the most known Catholic prayers.
A more modern church has been built in 1827 against the old ruins and is dedicated to St. Mary. This church is seldom open, but we were lucky enough to find it open for a wedding decorations, so we were invited in and allowed to have a look inside.
