| This window looks east, towards the River Boyne. It has a curious feature, a latrine in the right corner of its inner ledge, now covered with a grid, used when the castle was inhabitated. The whitish colour of the right wall is given by the ammonia of the urine. When seen from the outside, it's the window which, in the movie "Braveheart", Philip, the High Counsellor of Prince Edward, seems to throwned out from (see movie at time 1:29:28). The room where Edward I, his son Edward II and Philip were arguing was a different one. |
