The church seen from the south, with the fine Romanesque doorway and the small window.

This church in ruins stands about 1 km drive from the Kilcash castle, and was built on the remains of an ancient monastic site associated to St. Colmán ua hEirc who was one of the abbots of Clonard.
In medieval times the church passed to the Knights Hospitaller. In the churchyard is the tomb of archbishop Christopher Butler who died in 1757.
The south side boasts a fine Romanesque doorway and a small window. Just 5 metres to the east there's another building that probably was the dwelling for the priests.
The castle is visible from here.
