The St. Fethlimidh's Cathedral has an interesting architecture with a double west doorway, two two-lights windows and two aisles visible from the outside.

We already came here on May 4th, 2002, but we just visited the cathedral which was closed. What I remember of that visit is the intense smell of wild garlic all around the place. I also remember that we helped a lady whose car wouldn't start so we gave her a push, but when we got back to our car it happened the same thing to ours!
The cathedral was built in 1860's on the same site where St. Fethlimidh, or St. Felim, built a small church in the 6th century.
In the north (350°) wall of the vestry there's a wonderful four orders Romanesque doorway which was removed from Trinity Island Priory.
Each of the orders of the archway above the doorway is finely decorated with lozanges, human heads and intertwined patterns.
The jambs have geometric motifs on the inner order, the capitals and the base have richer decorations, with human faces. I also spotted what it seems a Celtic harp.
